Please read through this page for participation rules and conditions for all games
General Rules: (For 18th January 2020)

Participants should have paid the membership dues for the year 2020, prior to participation

All players are requested to be present at the venue by 11.00 AM and collect their wrist bands at the registration desk

Name of the Game moderator for each game will be provided at the registration table

Register yourself with the moderator no later than 11.30 AM

All tournaments will start at sharp 11.45 AM
Chess Requirements:

Install a chess timer app on your phone or tablet:

Please bring your chess set if you have one. We are running short of it. Please email us at secretary@atlantakananda.org if you can bring your own set.
Chess Game Rules:
-
Every game until finals will be timed for up to 20 minutes.

The finals may be extended beyond 20 minutes depending on the time availability, the moderator will make the decision.

Each round is going to be a knockout round, the player will be out of the tournament if (s)he loses a game.

In case if there is an odd number of players in any round, one player will be chosen via lottery to go to the next round (Waiver). The player who wins a lottery will not be eligible for any further waiver in the tournament.

Carrom Requirements:
1. We will provide the carrom set, however, you are free to bring your own game set if you are interested. Tables and chairs will be provided
2. Based on the number of registrations we have received, we have decided to conduct singles game instead of doubles. Please let us know if you have any concerns.
Carrom Rules:

Each round is going to be a knockout round, the player will be out of the tournament if (s)he loses a game.

All games until the final will be played for only one board. There will not be a point system until finals. A player winning the board will move on to the next round.

In case if there is an odd number of players in any round, one player will be chosen via lottery to go to the next round (Waiver). The player who wins a lottery will not be eligible for any further waiver in the tournament.

The final game will be played for either 26 points or best of three boards, the moderator will decide on this depending on the time availability.

1. We will provide the Chowkabaara set, however, you are free to bring your own game set if you are interested. Tables and chairs will be provided.

Super Minute Rules:
1. There will be 3 initial rounds followed by semifinal and a final
2. A team of 5 or 4 people will play against each other in early rounds
a. Top 2 from each team will be selected to advance to the next round
3. Finals will be played during prime time on the stage

Rangoli Rules:
1. Rangoli art should be of 3 ft x 3 ft. Theme of Rangoli can be anything, preferably related to Sankranthi and Karnataka
2. There will be only one round of competition with maximum time to complete in 1 hour
3. NKk will provide Rangoli colors. No outside colors are allowed
4. Only one participant is allowed ( No groups allowed )
5. Judging will be based on the following Criteria..
a. Overall Appearance and appeal, Details and Clarity in Rangoli art,Color combination and creativity
Antakshari Rules:
This will be Kannada only Antakshari and Quiz. Questions will be asked from Kannada films, bhavageete, Janapadageete and other kannada literature only
Prelims
1. Only 20/24 spots available to participate in prelims
2. Prelims will be a written test and only 10/12 people will be filtered on to the main rounds.
3. Groups will be selected based on the number of participants. Groups would be either in 2s or 3s
4. Pairing will be done through a lottery
Round 1.
1. Typical Antakshari round, where hosts starts first song and teams will sing the songs starting with last letter of the host's song
2. In case of discrepancy host and NKK teams makes the final decision
3. Goes for maximum of 2 or 3 rounds
4. In case of team failing to sing the song, team will not gain any point and next team will not be given any chance to take the pass on
Round 2.
1. Song's prelude will be played and each team will have 10 seconds to identify the songs
2. Each team will get direct questions, if not answered in first ask, the question will be passed on to further teams to gain half the points
3. Each pass on team will get only 5 seconds to answer
4. NKK/Host will make the final decision for any discrepancy
Round 3.
1. Will be a Dumb charades round, one member from team will enact the song/movie and other team member/s will identify the song/movie
2. Each right answer will get full points and 40/60 seconds to direct questions and pass on teams will get only 15/20 seconds and half the points
3. NKK/Host will make the final decision on discrepancy
Painting Rules for Kids:
Requirements:
1. NKK will provide crayons and paints and paper sheets
2. Crayons will be provided for kids less than 5 years old
3. Kids 6 years and older can choose crayons or paint for painting
Painting Rules:
1. Painting should be done on paper sheets
2. Only one participant per contest. Group pariticpation is not allowed for this event
3. Theme of painting is recommended to be on Sankranthi or Karnataka places
4. Duration of painting should be limited to 1 hour or less
5. Only NKK provided paiting or colors should be used
6. Painting with most artistic form and colorful one will be awarded prize
